Surprisingly the little building in the previous photo is open, time has stood still here

So this station is the start of the 22km trail

There’s actually an egg shortage in NZ (and there will be for quite some time), this sign reminded me of the fact that I should get my eggs directly from the farmer, we’ve actually gotten eggs at this very farm some time last year, can’t say I noticed a difference in taste but it’s good to support the locals

Getting closer to Lake Ellesmere

Lake Ellesmere, one of the dirtiest lakes in NZ, but there’s an even dirtier one!

The Kaitune River, coming from the Kaituna Valley and flowing in to Lake Ellesmere

Lake Ellesmere again, it’s so flat and yucky it reminds me of NL

Just on the other side of the trail is another small lake with heaps of black swans here

Somewhere along the track I noticed these plants, no idea what they are

But the flowers are quite pretty

Not sure what they’re measuring here, likely how disgusting the lake is

Anyway, I continue towards Little River, shouldn’t be too far now

Yes! Little River. Driven through here so often but never even noticed these trains here

I like how they have kept things looking the way they were back in the day

I wonder how many people boarded the train here

Besides having an old train station Little River is also known for its SiloStay

I decide I have earned an ice cream and take a blurred photo of myself, at least the wall is sharp!!

I think this photo clearly shows this lake (Lake Forsyth) is the dirtiest, filthiest, most disgusting lake in NZ, even swimming here will make you sick

Almost back at Motukarara, it’s been a hot and sunny day, the sheep are also trying to stay in the shade as much as possible

The sun is getting low, better be heading back
