Boxing Day, normally I’d be on my way to Omarama by now but the weather over there isn’t all the great so instead we opted to take the Jimny and go to an area called Stag & Spey where there’s supposed to be some track to a waterfall, unfortunately we didn’t really find this track and headed back to see if there was anything else worth exploring

From the Inland Road I took a left onto Chaffeys Road and The Gates Road where this photo was taken

Soon we crossed the Mason River again which was absolutely lovely to have a soak in

Crossing the river a number of times was also great fun, not too deep, no big rocks sticking out, great to get used to crossing a river
