Another early rise (at least for me), the sun was up even before me and busy\u00a0warming up the place<\/p><\/div>\n

Our last day, the weather isn’t as nice as it was the previous days but still ok<\/p><\/div>\n

Crossing one of the many creeks along the 11 km or so stretch to Ross<\/a><\/p><\/div>\n

In the old days this was a train track<\/p><\/div>\n

The historic railway bridge over the Totara River<\/p><\/div>\n

To our right the ocean, about 600m away<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"

And…… not only did the sun come out… we’ve made it! Woohoo!<\/p><\/div>\n

It was an awesome trail, beautiful scenery, well maintained, what’s not to like? I hope there are more trails like this!<\/p><\/div>\n

Now that we’re here we have a look around Ross, nice mural on one of the buildings<\/p><\/div>\n

The old jail<\/p><\/div>\n

Just long enough for a hobbit that bed<\/p><\/div>\n

They mined for gold here<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"

‘de Bakker cottage<\/a>‘, must have some Dutch connection<\/p><\/div>\n

‘Wat leefden ze eenvoudig toen, in simp’le huizen tussen groen’ (lines from a famous Dutch song that this house reminds me of)<\/p><\/div>\n

St James Street, the Catholic church is just to my left<\/p><\/div>\n

Nice stained glass window<\/p><\/div>\n

The Historic Empire Hotel<\/p><\/div>\n

Where Rachel got a very nice coffee, after that I had to hitchhike to Greymouth, get the Jimny and drive to Ross to pick up Rachel again and then back to Christchurch, what a fantastic trip this was!<\/p><\/div>\n
