Joe<\/a> and I<\/a> heard about a midweek gliding camp taking place at Nelson Lakes Gliding Club<\/a> and decided to go there as well and see what it has to offer. Here are our two gliders RY and ZH, ready for action<\/p><\/div>\n

It’s busy here at the moment<\/p><\/div>\n

The winch, some 1 km further west<\/p><\/div>\n

After having done a short check flight I did my first winch in RY and start exploring the area, here we see Mt Robert<\/p><\/div>\n

This is the Nelson Lakes airstrip seen from above<\/p><\/div>\n

Nelson Lakes’ LS4 CX, a little bit of Lake Rotoroa just underneath it<\/p><\/div>\n

It took a while but eventually I managed to fly further up the Robert Ridge and made it to Lake Angelus<\/a><\/p><\/div>\n

With the Angelus Hut<\/a>, which I have yet to visit<\/p><\/div>\n

West Bay and Kerr Bay (closest) of Lake Rotoiti<\/p><\/div>\n

Once again West Bay and Kerr Bay<\/p><\/div>\n

At the very end of the lake is Coldwater<\/a> Hut, which I visited before<\/p><\/div>\n

Robert Ridge again<\/p><\/div>\n

Lots of small lakes<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"

Flying south along the St Arnaud Range<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"

And north again, Lake Rotoroa on the left<\/p><\/div>\n

\"\"

After flying Joe and I have some dinner at the ‘clubhouse’ (can’t think of a better description) on the airfield<\/p><\/div>\n
