Our go-to camping spot in the Abel Tasman area, not far from the Ngarua Caves<\/p><\/div>\n

Today we went rafting on the Buller<\/p><\/div>\n

The photos look spectacular<\/p><\/div>\n

And give the impression we’re having fun<\/p><\/div>\n

But it was booooooring<\/p><\/div>\n

Because 98% of the river was like in this photo: dead calm<\/p><\/div>\n

With only 4 rapids in total<\/p><\/div>\n

This being one of them<\/p><\/div>\n

Rapids like this one are fun, for sure, but the trip should have had tens of these rapids, not 4 (in 2 hours)<\/p><\/div>\n

Here we had to row back into the current, because only that way could we get photos that look like something exciting is happening<\/p><\/div>\n

In this photo you see the ONLY rapid that really<\/strong> looked like fun, but…<\/strong> this one was skipped (of course), although Ultimate Descents<\/a> advertise with being the only rafting company that does<\/strong> do this rapid. Liars! Instead the rafts were towed over the rapid and we could jump into the water instead and swim towards the rafts a little further downstream<\/p><\/div>\n
