Unlike last time where Glyn and I had to be rescued, we stay in Guards Bay this time
We’re actually looking for the place where Glyn and I just managed to reach land at dusk to shelter for the strong southerly
This looks familiar, we must be close
Found it!
This is exact spot where Glyn and I sheltered 5 years ago in the pitch black night before being rescued
This is on the other side of Guards Bay, near Tawaroa Point, it looks like there are caves here
We get ashore and I try to get to the caves
I would love to jump in here but on the other hand it’s rather cold today and I’m not sure how I’d get out again
Strange patterns in the rocks
Lots of little animal life in the puddles
Looking back towards Titirangi Bay, where we started out trip
Not far to the campsite now
A map of today’s kayaking trip
And a little video of the day
Ah freedom, exercise and the great outdoors!
