Shortly thereafter we can see pretty much the whole of Lyttelton Harbour
Across the harbour looking more south
Taylors Mistake, Whitewash Head and Sumner Head where I regularly fly with my paraglider
B1E6, the summit in the eye of the loop track
It’s also here we can see remnants of the defence battery bunkers
During WWII they were looking out for the enemy from here, an enemy there never showed up, they couldn’t be bothered
At least it’s not too bad for some photos
From here the track goes back down to Godley Head, Rachel is a little ahead of me
NZ wouldn’t be NZ without fences
In another bunker we find some bird’s nest, no bird though
The view from the bunker, where are ze Germans?
Another view of Taylors Mistake
Afterwards Rachel gets us some icecream, yum!
And a little map of today’s walk which was just shy of 4 km and good for about 1.5 hours
