Phi Phi Islands – Day 2

My second and last day on Phi Phi Island, another rainy start of the day

I book a trip on one of these boats that are so common here

The islands rise up almost vertically out of the ocean, the boat takes us from Ko Phi Phi Don to Ko Phi Phe Lee

Close to Ko Phi Phi Lee here

And that’s Maya Bay, famous from that movie

Admittedly it is a beautiful bay

A little walk to the east side of the island ends here, we’ll be there by boat later anyway

MA YA BAY

Looks like mangroves to me, maybe they are?

There’s even a toilet here

And of course offerings for Buddha

It’s stupidly busy on the beach

The boat I’m on, there’s maybe 5 customers, definitely low season

But it’s a cool way to be transported around here, these Thai boats

We visit all these little nooks on the west side of Ko Phi Phi Lee

This dude was on the boat as well

Emerald green water

Not sure what the deal was here, looks like people live here?

This is where everyone gets in to the water with some food for the fish that swim right up to you

This is on Monkey Beach, on Ko Phi Phi Don where the boat made an obligatory stop

No idea what kind of monkeys these are

But they’re cute

They’ll drink anything you give them (not me giving the monkey this can though)

Om nom nom

I would think that’s male… that’s gotta hurt I reckon

A mum with her babies

She takes good care of them

Peanuts galore

What a life!

Every day people come to see you and throw food at you, could be worse!

Not a bat

This made me laugh so hard, some tourist just shoving their GoPro right up the monkey’s face, would love to see that footage

Eye contact

Water melon is another favourite

Cute

They know exactly how to handle a water bottle

Back on land, I decide to go for a little walk before I have to leave again, this is somewhere along Tonsai Beach Road

One of the many little shops here

And I’m heading back to Phuket

Almost back at Rassada Pier

Almost back at my accomodation, you see electric wires everywhere, I feel sorry for whoever needs to fix it if there’s a problem

My favourite Thai dish: Massaman Curry

At my favourite restaurant, mostly locals eat here, hardly any tourists, that means fantastic authentic food for cheap

And a little video

  1. That place looks like a paradise – save for the masses on the beach.
The trees look like a mangrove but I think they’d normally have way more aerial roots .
I think the super cute monkeys are macaques
